This is a read-aloud of Matter by Andi Diehn and illustrated by Shululu is highlighted in the May 2022 Saltillo Calendar.

What is matter? It is part of the physical science branch. Have you ever wondered about all the things you touch? What are they made of? Matter, of course!

Explore the physical science of matter found in our world!

Throughout the story, you’re encouraged to inspire interaction and conversation using the TAAP strategy. This month we suggest TAAPing your way through the story and model the following messages: amazing, wow, how all, things, and could. Additional words for modeling are also included in this read-aloud: read, read more, turn the page, and the end. Model words to match the interest and needs of the person using the communication system as you explore different word combinations!
