Michelle Mineo


Michelle is a Miami University graduate, earning both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science there. In her work as a speech language pathologist, the focus of Michelle's caseload has always been working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. She spent 18 years with the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She has provided communication services and support in the community, onsite at community employment, sheltered employment, nursing homes, group homes, private residences, and in a private practice setting. Michelle has utilized low tech to high tech options for her clients, and trained family members and staff to support and promote good communication across environments. She’s navigated the funding process, written funding reports, worked with service coordinators to locate alternative funding options, and chaired fundraising events to purchase technology. To further promote communication and access to technology, she led the technology committee that brought computer and tablet technology to the sheltered employment setting that she served.

Michelle has been an invited speaker at the Ohio State University and at PAR (Professionals, Advocates, Resources) on the subject of assistive technology. She is a licensed speech pathologist in the state of Ohio, and holds the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association's Certificate of Clinical Competence, and is a member of their Division 12 (AAC) Special Interest Group.
