Cynthia Heryanto


Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College and completed her Master’s Degree in Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University. During her Master’s program, Cynthia completed additional coursework and fieldwork in the area of augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) as part of a grant aimed at training professionals in the implementation of AAC tools and strategies within early intervention settings. Since receiving her Master’s degree, Cynthia has specialized in the field of AAC and assistive technology serving children with a range of diagnoses within early intervention, school, and clinic settings. Previous positions have included providing AAC evaluations and individualized therapy, as well as co-teaching within classrooms for orthopedically impaired students using speech generating devices to communicate and access their educational curricula. Prior to becoming a Speech Language Pathologist, Cynthia’s knowledge and passion for helping children and adults develop AAC skills was fueled by many years working at summer camps and adult day programs for people with developmental disabilities.

Cynthia holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), has a California Speech Language Pathology License, and holds a California Professional Clear Clinical and Rehabilitative Services Credential. Cynthia is also a member of the ASHA Division 12 (AAC division).
