ChatEditor is not intended to function as a speech generating device. It is a support tool for modifying the AAC users vocabulary so they can continue using the device while modifications are being made. ChatEditor can be used for modeling and can be used for learning placement of vocabulary while waiting on a device to arrive. ChatEditor also provides a Capture tool. This provides a way to copy/paste a specific symbol or a sequence of symbols to use as teaching supports.
Dialog boxes will appear slightly different and a couple of the options are modified for the computer.
When you are editing and accessing menus on the NovaChat device, pressing and holding on the screen opens context menus. When editing on the Via devices, tap the button opens a context menu. In ChatEditor, right-clicking on the vocabulary window will open context menus for editing.
